Randomly stumbling upon a news piece on the untimely demise of a long-lost loved-one, Perpugilliam “Peri” Brown, whose introduction to the Whoniverse was utterly spoiled in this audiobook, compels The Sixth Doctor to take her back to 1984’s Baltimore, where no one speaks with an authentic accent and the locals are gradually being Body-Snatcher’ed by some malevolent alien force.
Peri’s family isn’t too fond to have her back, nor are her so-called friends whose social calendars can surely only suffer from her sudden return. Oh, if only Peri could impress them by knowing everything about aliens and helping to save the day! But not so fast, Buster, because first she has to assume nothing spacey-wacey is afoot so the Doctor’s alien-I-mean-clearly-American coat can naturally blend into the surroundings.

Hi folks
So you’ve decided to flash forwards in your audios? Well, this is a good one, though I’ll be honest and it’s been a while since I listened to it.
Peri! Well, you have haven’t got to her yet on the classic channel (though not far off…) so she might come across as slightly odd. This story provides a fair chunk of background to her home life which we don’t get a lot of in the actual show. It’s also set in between Colin’s two seasons so her relationship with the Doctor is a bit more mellow than it was at times on the show.
This one has a strong link with The Gathering (which I assume you are reviewing next) so it’ll be interesting to hear what you think after that audio. Personally I do think this the stronger audio though.
Ooh a Commander Zheng cameo. Listen to Spare Parts to get that reference.
A slightly hazy memory of a 4 out of 5, seems I’m not the only one who is having issues with my memory ?.
Cheers
