A Killer Christmas Star, a frustrated bride, and it turns out our world is just cosmic dirt wrapped around a spider nest

As we saw at the end of (N027) Doomsday, The Tenth Doctor is suddenly visited in his T.A.R.D.I.S. by a frustrated/frustrating bride. Meet Donna Noble, played by Catherine Tate, who was beamed out of the church on her wedding day in front of at least a hundred witnesses, who all believe she’s run away, and that this is just another one of her tricks. Well, intelligence may not be a family trait.

So now the race is on to get Donna back to the aisle in time to get married to possibly the worst groom ever, while The Doctor and Donna dodge brass-wielding Santa Roboforms, and a cobwebbed Christmas star piloted by – spoilers – the Empress of the Racnoss (a big, red spider lady) is on approach.

Here's what we think of N028 The Runaway Bride

We rate Doctor Who stories on a scale from 0.0 to 5.0. For context, very few are excellent enough to merit a 5.0 in our minds, and we'd take a 0.0 Doctor Who story over a lot of other, non-Whovian stuff out there.
